South Texas Health System Partners with Cultura Coffee Co. to Bring Specialty Blend Coffee to the STHS Edinburg Campus
It’s rise and grind for the patients, visitors, staff and physicians at South Texas Health System Edinburg and STHS Children’s.
South Texas Health System has teamed up with Cultura Coffee Co. to officially open the Latino-owned and Rio Grande Valley-based company’s latest coffee shop on the STHS Edinburg campus. To commemorate the partnership and mark the grand opening of the space, South Texas Health System hosted a special ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, June 17, with dozens of facility leaders and staff members in attendance.
“South Texas Health System is committed to supporting local small businesses, and we’re thrilled to be teaming up with Cultura Coffee Co. to launch this specialty coffee shop. Beyond providing freshly brewed happiness in a cup, this new coffee shop will celebrate the Valley’s Mexican culture and heritage with every beverage served, all while creating a space that promotes a culture of unity and togetherness,” says Lance Ames, Chief Executive Officer, STHS Edinburg and STHS Children’s. “Cultura Coffee Co.’s leadership team is dedicated to creating positive spaces that celebrate our Mexican heritage and traditions, and we’re certain this new coffee shop will help our patients, visitors, staff and physicians have a positive experience when they come to our hospitals.”
Located on the first floor of STHS Edinburg, Cultura Coffee Co.’s second location in the community will offer a selection of specialty coffees and espressos, teas, limonattas and other non-coffee drinks, sandwiches and desserts.
“It’s about putting coffee and culture in the palm of our customers’ hands,” says Christopher Hernandez, Director of Operations, Cultura Coffee Co., which began operating a coffee shop in McAllen about three years ago before relocating it to Edinburg. “Part of our mission is to preserve our Mexican heritage, so we import our specialty coffee beans from Mexico, and we’re excited to give patients, visitors and staff at STHS Edinburg and STHS Children’s a taste of the unique flavor profile of coffees from Mexico.”
The Culture Coffee Co. shop at STHS Edinburg and STHS Children’s is open from Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
