South Texas Health System Supports Rio Grande Valley Diabetes Association
South Texas Health System is proud to support the Rio Grande Valley Diabetes Association with a major gift to help fund diabetes camps for children and the ongoing diabetes education efforts in our community. STHS was also the exclusive hospital system to support the Together 4 Our Health event hosted on April 2 at the McAllen Convention Center along with KRGV News Channel 5, the UTRGV School of Medicine and the Rio Grande Valley Diabetes Association.
The free community event drew in more than 6,000 people and in the two weeks leading up to the event, KRGV ran several stories featuring patients, doctors and issues related to the diabetes epidemic. Free diabetes screenings were provided by South Texas Health System and the Valley Care Clinics throughout the Rio Grande Valley, impacting hundreds of residents.
