The South Texas Health System Edinburg Expansion Project
South Texas Health System Edinburg has broken ground on the hospital's new five-story, $100 million patient tower. South Texas Health System Edinburg’s new patient tower is part of South Texas Health System’s commitment to the City of Edinburg and the rest of the Rio Grande Valley.
On December 17, 2020, South Texas Health System Edinburg held a small in-person groundbreaking ceremony that was broadcast on Facebook Live. The event featured the participation of local dignitaries including Edinburg Mayor Richard Molina, State Representative Terry Canales, a keynote message from State Senator Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, and recorded remarks from Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez, Hidalgo County Commissioner Ellie Torres and more.
